Obituary of Shirley Seva Skipper

Age 85, of Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, passed away peacefully August 1, 2019, with family by her side. Born April 17, 1934 in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Leora (Tracey) and James Vaughan.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (William) Leeman; daughter-in-law, Connie Vaughan (Ray Curry); grandchildren, James (Brandi) Vaughan, Richard (Natasha) Vaughan, Leora (Steven) Lydiard, Tamara Leeman, and Angela Leeman: eight great grandchildren; sister, Ella Kewley; brothers, Royce (Florence) Vaughan and Eric (Ruth) Vaughan.

Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her son, Richard Vaughan; sisters, Gwen Crane, Christine Boudreau and infant sister, Sylvia; brothers, Arthur, Leo and Clyde.

Shirley grew up in a large family who loved to gather for music and laughter. She always made sure there was always room for one more at the dinner table. Shirley had an impact on everyone she met and will be dearly missed by many.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 6 in Hantsport Baptist Church, 6 Willow Street, Hantsport, Rev. Jennifer Riley officiating. Private family interment will immediately follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. A reception will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall.
