Obituary of Marguerite Foster

It is with deep sadness to announce that Marguerite Foster completed her journey of life here on earth on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. She passed away peacefully in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, at the age of 96 with her family by her side. Marguerite was the proud daughter of her late parents, Alexander and Cora (Goodwin) Pelley and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

 

Marguerite was a member of St. Louise Union Church in Ellershouse, a Jolly Seniors member in Brooklyn and member of Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch No. 009, Ladies Auxiliary in Windsor. She loved camping, gardening and especially being around her grandchildren and family. 

 

A devoted mother and matriarch of the Foster family, she is survived by her loving sons, Fred and David (Brenda); cherished grandchildren, Heidi, Jennifer, Adam, Cynthia and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Kallie, Max, Ethan, Chase, Lila, Ivy, Morgan, Alicia, Courtney, Katelynn and her one great-great-grandchild, Natalie. 

 

Besides her parents, Marguerite was predeceased by husband, Richard Charles Foster; brothers, Wallace, Frank, and Cecil; sisters, Rita, Ethel, Enid and Annie; and her daughter, Kathleen Ann Ritchie.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a legion tribute service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 5. A funeral service celebrating Marguerite’s life will be held Saturday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home’s chapel, Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will be held in Oakhill Cemetery, Ellershouse. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marguerite may be made to IWK Foundation, 5855 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax, NS B3H 4S2 or Windsor Elms Village, 174 Dyke Rd., Falmouth, NS B0P 1P0.
