Obituary of Donna Nadine Hartt

Age 74, of Windsor, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, February 15, 2019 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Mable (Gammon) Matheson.

Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Family was everything to her and her family adored her. She had a great sense of humour, a kind heart and positive outlook on life. Donna was an avid bowler, she loved her gardens and nature. She loved to travel, especially out west to visit family.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald; sons, Mike (Iris) and Stephen (Sherri); daughter, Michelle Hartt; grandchildren, Trevor (Kristy), Matt (Vicki), Krista (Carly), Inaki Quintana, Andrew (Jill), Justin (Sarah), Dillan (Breanna) and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Liam, Taya, Kennedy, Shelby, Jaycee, Maddie, Hudson and Paislee; brothers, David (Darlene), Lloy (Bev), Doug, Terry (Karen), Paul (Connie) Matheson; sister, Shirley (Gene) Smith; former daughter-in-law, Sherri Schofield and former son-in-law, Tim Curry.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by granddaughter, Michaela; brothers, Jackie (May) Barker and Ron (Judy) Matheson; sister-in-law, Ena Matheson.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of Hants Community Hospital, the VON and the Hematology Department at the QEII Hospital, for everything they did for Donna.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 20 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Karen Lynch and Pastor Craig Faulkner officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, followed by burial in Vaughan Community Cemetery, Lower Vaughan.
