Obituary of Barbara Geraldine Goldsmith

Age 78, of Windsor/Mount Denson, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Haliburton Place, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Eugene “Doc” and Muriel (Hiltz) Peach. 

Barb grew up in Mount Denson and was a resident at Haliburton Place in Windsor for the past year. She was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest love was her family. She especially loved all the cuddles and kisses from her grandchildren. For most of her life she was a homemaker who also helped run the family farm. Her favourite pastime was going on road trips with "the girls" or joining them for lunch dates.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Goldsmith; son, Douglas, Hantsport; daughters, Lisa (David) Kaulback, Chester Basin; Diana (Bradford) Hall, Mount Denson; grandchildren, Amber Starratt, Chester and Evan Starratt, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Seth Starratt and Lily Barkhouse, both of Chester.

Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy (Phillip) McLellan; niece, Kim McLellan.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Haliburton Place for all the love, care and kindness shown to mum during her stay. A special thank you to mum's best friend, Anna Spence for being there and walking step by step with her through her illness.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where there will be a private family funeral followed by a burial in Mount Denson Community Cemetery. However, the family would like to invite friends to an informal celebration of Barb’s life in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre on Friday, February 15 from 2 – 4 p.m. Feel free to drop by at any point to visit with the family and pay your respects.
