RAYMOND (McKay), Geneva Elsie

It is with great sadness that the family of Geneva Elsie Raymond announces her passing in Windsor on Thursday, January 31, 2019.  She was born in Nappan, on September 26, 1929.  Geneva was predeceased by her parents, Courtney and Elsie McKay; her sister, Hazel McKay and her son in-law, Stephen Hadley.  She is survived by her loving husband, Gerry; daughter, Janet Hadley of Beaver Bank; son, Bruce (Joyce) of Charlottetown; and adored grandsons, Brian Hadley of Toronto and Andrew Hadley (Caitlyn) of Halifax. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Geneva was a school teacher for many years teaching in Windsor and previously in Noranda, Quebec. She was an active member of the Windsor United Church where she was a long-time choir member, taught Sunday school and was a Brownie leader. She was a Gyrette and Rotary Anne for many years. For many years, Geneva enjoyed playing with the Chalmers Doane Halifax Ukulele Group throughout the province and twice in Hawaii. She was an avid golfer at the Avon Valley Golf and Country Club for several years. She loved playing the piano, sewing clothes and designing her home. After retirement, she volunteered in an outreach reading program. Geneva was an avid bridge player and cryptoquote solver. She and Gerry travelled widely including New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Middle East and North America.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Debbie E., Rose, Barb, Grace, Pam and Debbie G.  The family thanks Dr. Mark Kazimirski and Dr. Iona Wile for their care over the years and the many phone calls, emails, cards, visits and food from friends.
