Obituary of Bruce Frederick King
Age 95, of Hants Border, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, QEII, Halifax. Born in Avonport, he was a son of the late Douglas and Evangeline (Kelly) King.
Bruce joined the army at 17 to fight for his country overseas, however, due to an accident he never got to go fight. He became a successful businessman selling fruits and vegetables to various people and businesses. He loved his kitty, Sam and his grandsons and enjoyed spending time with the boys. He also enjoyed cars, old hymns and country music.
He is survived by his wife the former Beverly Hollingsworth; son, Raymond “Tucker” (Phyllis), Chicago, USA; daughters, Adriean (Robert) Millier, Glenmont and Teresa, at home; grandsons, Mitchell (Allie) and Marty Millier; great grandchildren, Logan Brown and Brittyn Millier; numerous nieces and nephews as well as his cherished kitty, Sam.
Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by brothers, Reginald, Alfred, Foster and Justin; sisters, Hilda Talbot and Mildred Davies
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service celebrating Bruce’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 3 in the DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will take place at a later date in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport.
