Obituary of Royston Albert Charles Gollan

Age 83, of Windsor, Hants Co., passed away peacefully with his family by his side, following complications from surgery, on Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the VG Site, QEII Hospital. Born in Windsor, he was the son of the late Charlie and Dorothy (Rafuse) Gollan.

He was a former elder of Windsor United Church and an avid curler. His hobbies were many but not limited to photography, fixing and tinkering with motors, antique cars, listening to music and watching TV, especially hockey of which he was a steadfast Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Most of all he enjoyed family time together, especially spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Muriel Black; sons, Greg (Darlene) and Steve (Christine vanSnick), all of Falmouth; grandsons, Jeff (Jess Vouligny), Cody and Dylan; sisters, Elsie Swinimer, Wolfville; Lenore (Keith) Woodman, Falmouth; Valerie Gollan (Bob Shannon), Halifax; brother-in-law, Ervin Smeltzer, Upper Vaughan; also extended family, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Royston was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Melissa; sisters, Phyllis Church and Rossie Smeltzer; brothers-in-law, Eric Swinimer and Ted Church.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses of the ICU at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
