MacDONALD (Freeman), Maxine Ruth

Celeste, Teresa and Karen are heartbroken to announce the passing of their Mother, age 85 of Greenwich, formerly of Kentville. She passed away peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2018 in Shannex Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born in Kingston on March 17, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Banford and Reta (England) Freeman.

Mom was very involved with the hobby crafters group in Kentville, she loved doing any kind of craft. She bowled twice a week on two different teams at the Fairlanes Bowling Alley in New Minas.

She is survived by daughters, Celeste (Brian) Gilbert, Lower Sackville; Teresa (Vernon) Sheehy, Mount Denson; Karen White (Fred Schofield), Coldbrook; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Acker, Middleton; brother, Donald (Jocelyn) Freeman, Nictaux.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Joseph MacDonald; brothers, Earl, Ralph and Robie; sister, Florence.

We would like to thank the staff at Blomidon Court for all their love, care and support they gave to Mom. They treated her like their family while she was in their care. We could not have asked for any better. Also, we’d like to thank Elisabeth Macmillan for all her weekly visits and the flowers she brought Mom from her own garden, Mom really enjoyed that.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Mom’s wishes, her body has been donated to Dalhousie University. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Eventually Mom will be laid to rest, with Dad, in Mount Denson Community Cemetery.
