Obituary of Virginia Mae "Jenny" Pulchensky

Age 89, of Windsor, passed away quietly on Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

 

Jenny is survived by son, Allan Jr., Windsor; sisters, Audrey Patterson, New Glasgow and Yvonne Barkhouse, Toronto; several nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Allan Sr.; daughter, Shirley Clarke; sisters, Edith Butler, Thora Whidden and Frances Goodhew; brother, Fred Barkhouse.

 

Jenny loved her flower garden and was an avid gardener. She loved to paint and her art can be found from England to the U.S. and Mexico. She was on the Avon Arts Council and loved exhibition season. Many paintings hang at home with their ribbons proudly displayed. Jenny was a friend to all and just simply a Mother to most. She will be greatly missed by her son, Allan and all who knew her.

 

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Soma and the Nursing Staff of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A drop in open house celebration of Jenny’s life will be held in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre on Tuesday, July 3 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. A private family interment will immediately follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jenny may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, 2719 Gladstone St, Halifax, NS B3K 0A4 or to a charity of one’s choice.
