Obituary of Diana Elizabeth Thompson

Of Hantsport, passed away at the age of 76 on June 4, 2018. Born in Halifax and raised in Hantsport, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor (Chesley) Oldershaw.

After nursing training at the Halifax Children’s Hospital (Class of ’63) and employment there, she returned to Hantsport in 1965 to raise her family. She later worked in the local public library. Diana is survived by her husband, Gerald; children, Donald, Elizabeth and Rachael; granddaughter, Haruka; sisters, Helen, Nancy and Audrey and their families.

We are very grateful to the Hantsport Collaborative Practice, QEII Cancer Centre, Annapolis Valley Palliative Care team, VON nursing and home support teams, Lorraine Rawlins, EHS paramedics, Red Cross, and for the love and support of family and friends.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As Diana wished, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Diana may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
