Obituary of Walter Owen Richard
Age 76, of Windsor, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at home. Born November 24, 1941 in West LaHave, he was a son of the late Moore and Doris (Conrad) Richard.
Walter played hockey in his younger days and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. He enjoyed fishing, music and travelling.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan; son, Andy (Debby), Martock; grandchildren, Andrea, Amy, Sarah, Marica and Vanessa; great grandson, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Elaine; brother, Murray, Sackville; sisters, Judith, West LaHave and Mildred (Maynard) Rafuse, Martins River; and three nephews.
Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his son, Anthony “Tony” Richard; and sister-in-law, Edith.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Walter’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 23 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiating. Private family interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception will be held in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
