Obituary of Gary D. Morris

MORRIS, Gary Douglas - 58, Auburn, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at home. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, he was the son of Laura Edith (Bemister) Morris, Grand View Manor, Berwick, and the late Gerald Edgar Morris.Gary retired after many years from Crown Metal Packing, Concord, Ont. He loved to travel and also spent many hours on his sailboat with friends exploring Georgian Bay. Gary was an avid fisherman and sport enthusiast enjoying golfing, and hockey. Besides his mother is survived by a brother, David George Morris (Gwen Millen), Mississauga, Ont.; dear friends, Beverly Wood, Barrie, Ont.; Rick Greenfield, Schomburg, Ont.; Sandra Shaw, Berwick, as well numerous relatives and friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and beyond.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with a reception to follow. Burial to take place in Newfoundland at a later date. No flowers please, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Mary’s Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
