Obituary of Dolores Sears
SEARS, Dolores Elizabeth (Amos)
Age 86, of Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Wednesday, November 29, in Orchard Court, Kentville, where she has resided for the past few years.
Dolores was born in Amherst on May 9, 1931 and moved to Halifax in her late teens to work at Simpson Sears in the accounting department. She enjoyed music and dancing in her childhood. Dolores married early in her life and was the loving mother of six children. Her family was raised in Hantsport, where she made many friends. She was very community spirited and took part in helping with many suppers and town functions. Dolores was an exceptional cook and could put together a delicious meal for many on short notice. Many family and friends gathered around her table often to share in those meals. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a contagious laugh. Even after she became ill, her sense of humour shone through and she had her own way of sharing that with you.
Dolores is survived by her children, Victor (Peggy), Kenneth (Sharon), Gregory, Brenda (Yvon), Brian, Janet (Tony);their father, Donald Sears; her cherished grandchildren, Jeremy, Becky, David, Vicki, Christopher, Sean, Nathan and Olivia and 10 great-grandchildren; and half-brother, Michael Damery.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edna May French and Kenneth Amos and an infant daughter, Donna.
