So very sorry to hear this news.
I remember my very first Family Christmas Party at your home, many years ago, as Shirley's new step daughter. I was very nervous, as there was a large and loud crowd. Bill came up to me and said "We're a bit much, aren't we?" - then he put me in the food line up! I always was made so welcome in your home and have never forgotten it.

Dear Millicent
It was with great sadness that I received the news this morning of Bill's death. Karen Rowlands , very kindly, sent the obituary notice from the Hants Journal.
Please accept my sincerest sympathy, Bill was such a great man, I remember him so warmly. He had such a kind and generous heart, especially when as young folk in a new country thousands of miles from home, he helped us with a car and advice with so many practicalities of life in Nova Scotia. You too Millicent, were instrumental in making us feel welcome in our new life.
Please convey my condolences to Craig and Melodie; I'm so glad that you have both been able to enjoy having grandchildren.
I hope to have your new postal address soon, my last card was returned not at this address.
You are very much in my thoughts and prayers as I write this on the day of the funeral. I feel sure that your faith will help you through the day and into the weeks ahead.

Millicent, Craig and Melodie...I so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. I'll always remember visiting your house when I was a young boy and listening to a big man with a gentle voice telling stories about the trips you went on and things that you saw.
My dad (Bob) always spoke highly of your dad and would tell us about the time he spent going over to your house when he was growing up.

Bill was a distant relative of my Mom (Freda (Stevens) Miller and I remember
a few visits to his home when we were both very young, but have to say
never got to know him with our lives separated in the busy world we llive

I knew Bill from our days at NSAC and particularly the summer of '55 when I was a "summer ag rep" in Windsor. My late wife and I managed a couple if visits over the years, particularly the past 14 years living in the Valley. I'm so pleased to have visited him at home a couple of months ago. A good man gone; my sympathy to his family.
