Obituary of Daniel James Murray

Age 75, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on May 9, 1942, he was a son of the late Donald and Jessie (Beattie) Murray.

A lifelong resident of Hantsport, Danny was known for his musical talents and played in several local bands throughout the course of his life. The better parts of his working years were spent at CKF until his retirement. His family was his pride and joy. He was a man of compassion and integrity and always considered those in need and reached out to help others. He will be remembered for his easy conversation and quick wit.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Beverley Delany-Murray; daughters, Kimberly Dennis, Victoria, BC; Dawn (Steve) Hunnewell, New Gloucester, Maine; grandchildren, Murray and Emma Dennis; Matthew and Jason Hunnewell; niece and nephews, Kiersten, Trevor and Clayton Murray, as well as other extended Delany family members and his four legged friend, his dog, Jazz.

Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Cleyle) and brother, John.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all of Danny's health care providers and the Palliative Care Unit at Hants Community Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Danny’s life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 in Avon United Church, 17 Prince St., Hantsport, Rev. Judith Perry officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. A reception will be held back in the church. Family flowers only, by request.
