ARMSTRONG, William Bacon "Bill" Age 93, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. He was the son of the late Frank and Nellie Armstrong. Bill was owner of Avon Restaurant and Armstrong's Taxi for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Olive (Porter) Armstrong; stepson, John Janes, Hantsport; four step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Davidson, Woodville; Marion (Donald) Grant, Middleton; Pauline Conrad, Berwick. Bill was predeceased by brothers, Bliss and Clarence; sister, Geraldine Parsons; stepson, Joe Janes. Bill's family would like to express special thanks to his niece, Linda Leopold, for her help in so many ways. Thanks to Dykeland Lodge for their exceptional compassion and care shown and given to Bill for the last six years. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor, NS (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will take place afterward in Maplewood Cemetery. Family flowers only by request, however, donations in memory of Bill may be made to Friends of Dykeland Lodge, 124 Cottage St., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
