We have been deeply saddened in learning of Lee's illness and resulting demise. She was Matron of Honour at our wedding and a friend for 50 years. As we were at the Acadia Class of 1967 Reunion and I am President,, we were unable to attend her Memorial Service. Some Class members were able to attend and our Class sent condolences as many remembered her fondly. Linda and I admired her stoic determination in the manner she responded to her life's challenges and we are making a donation in her memory to Amyloidosis Research. We already miss her twinkling eyes and impish grin. Her passing was far too soon and we send our sincere condolences to all of the Family.as she will be greatly missed...

To the family of Leslie Brannen,
It is sad to lose "Lee", who loved education and family.
It seems we are never ready to pass away, which shows that our Creator did not intend life to end. A comforting Bible promise to look forward to is when God "will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more . . . nor pain be anymore" in the Paradise to come, on earth. (Revelation 21:4)
Please accept this thought toward the family.

To the family of Lee Brannen, I am very saddened by the news. Kimberley, I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. I was very fond of her. I was so glad that I had a chance to reconnect with you both, when my dad passed. I enjoyed our talk and the reminiscing about the Brannen boys (the older generation). Lee told us some pretty funny stories, which I had never heard before. She was also very close to my dad. To Lee's siblings, I am so thankful that she was thoughtful enough to spend time with him in his final years. I wish I were able to attend the services to see each of you, but am unable to due to the distance.
I am sending each of you a hug and know that my prayers are with all the family members of Lee Brannen. She was a joy to be around and a wonderful person who will be dearly missed.
With deepest sympathy,
Laura Leigh Brannen Duemmling

Our families were friends. We seemed to be back and forth in Truro and at Shortt's Lake. Lee and I were Girl Guides and I remember one soggy week near Pictou when we as older, responsible leaders ?, had to get out of our tent, and take a muddy walk to quell noise coming from some younger girls. Turned out my sister Peggy was teaching StVitis dance. (The camp forms were extensive then.)
Glad Lee had such fun with her passions and sorry to hear of her early death.

I was so very sorry to hear of Lee,s passing although I was aware of her illness & had recently been down to visit with her along with her good friend Janet Moulton.
We had a wonderful visit & Lee was cheerful & so very stoic..What an admirable & courageous lady to have taken this disease in hand & do what she needed to do!
It is indeed a very sad loss to her family &friends & she will be forever missed by many.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy & know that you will be in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.Although I will not be able to attend the funeral tomorrow I do plan. to attend Lee,s internment.
With a sad & heavy heart in the loss of a cherished high school friend,
Lovingly,
Geline Byers

Dear Family Members:
I have been living in Ontario for over 40 years and when I went to N.S. it was to visit family - never seemed to have much time for visiting friends like Lee. However, N.S. friends have kept me up-to-date and I was saddened to hear of her illness and subsequent death. I remember many good times with my Queen St. friend Lee! We went thru school and university together and I always had a lot of respect for Lee - a very caring, enjoyable and interesting individual and I am glad that she was able to enjoy such a wonderful retirement even though it was too short. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time and may all your wonderful memories of Lee give you comfort in the days to come. Rest in Peace My Friend.
With most sincere condolences,
Carole (Legge) Phee

Dear Cody, Tamara, Frank and family,
It is with heavy hearts that we write this note to you...
We are so sorry to hear of Lee's death. So unfair!
I am so grateful that Lee and Frank came to Truro this spring to visit.
We have enjoyed Lee as both our wonderful friend and neighbour at Shortts Lake for many, many years. It was her happy place for sure! She always said so!
Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Lee will be greatly missed...
Fondly,
Leslie and Peter

So sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Cook (as I knew her as one of her many students at Chester Municipal High School) taught me how to use a sewing machine and by the end of the term, I had sewed a prom dress. Such an amazing person. Cherish the time you had with her and also the memories that you made along the way. I am sure that she is looking down on you as all mothers do when they leave us. Stay strong.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have an interesting and happy connection with Mrs. Brannen. She taught me at CAMS during my middle school years, and then she stayed there, I went off to High School. 17 years later our paths crossed in Windsor, where she retired and I settled in to begin my adult life! I opened a shop in 2013 and one sunny day Mrs Brannen was walking her dog by my front door! It was a really fun moment and after that, we exchanged many hellos and waves. I will miss seeing her big smile walking by.

Lee's family:
Lee was a very special person in my life and I will miss her terribly. I know this will be a difficult time as I just lost my husband, John, on June 9. As my daughter said the morning John passed away, "we must move ahead." That will not be easy, but with time I am sure you as a family will share my wonderful memories of Lee just as I have.
