Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

WENTZELL, Betty Roseline

Formerly of Mount Denson, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on November 9, 1929 in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Florence (Tanner) Feener.

The family moved to Lunenburg where she grew up and attended the Lunenburg Academy and then went into banking as a career. She met her late husband Arnold Wentzell in Lunenburg, where he was working as an RCMP Constable. She followed him and his military career and moved to Ottawa, Cold Lake, Edmonton and back to Nova Scotia where they bought a home in Mount Denson.

Betty was an organist, something she truly enjoyed until arthritis made it impossible. She played in Windsor, Hantsport and surrounding areas for funerals and weddings. She loved her flowers, gardens and all animals: horses, cats, dogs and birds.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Arnold; sisters, Lucille, Myrtle, Agnes, Marguerite, Pommy and brother, Leonard. Betty is survived by her daughter, Margo (David) Jeffrey, Halifax; grandson, Ryan Mercier, Mount Denson; nieces, nephews and close family friend, Teresa States. She will be missed. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Dykeland for the care you gave my mother.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As requested by Betty, there will be no funeral service. A private interment will be held in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Hants SPCA, PO Box 2274, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
