MACUMBER, Erma Venetta
We are saddened to announce the passing of Erma Venetta Macumber at the Hants Community Hospital, early Monday morning. Erma was born in Harmony (near Truro), on January 3, 1936 to the late Harold and Verna MacCabe.
In her younger years Erma worked at Windsor Textiles, and also Avon Valley Greenhouses in Falmouth. She loved nature. She loved watching birds, and squirrels and she especially loved planting pansies. She enjoyed going shopping and having her Saturday coffee with her daughter and granddaughter. She was a loving person who loved life. She had a good sense of humour and loved laughing with her family. She will greatly be missed.
She was survived by her husband of 60 years, William Macumber, Falmouth; her daughter, Shelley Grant (Claude), Antrim; grandson, Dana (Sarah) Grant, Clinton, Ontario; granddaughter, Denise Grant, Kentville; and four great-grandchildren; her brother, Cleveland, and many nieces and nephews, and their families. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Clyde, Rodney and Floyd; and sisters, Georgina and Helen. She will be sadly missed by those who loved her.
A special thanks to the VON nurses, also the Palliative Care Unit at the Hants Community Hospital for their care and support during her time and through her journey.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Rd., Falmouth, Rev. Beth Johnston will be officiating.
