Obituary of Amy Esther Collicutt

COLLICUTT, Amy Esther Age 87, formerly of Wolfville, and most recently a resident of Windsor Elms Village, passed away December 29, 2016 in Hants Community Hospital. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she was the daughter of the late William "Homer" and Elsie Irene (Diamond) Pethick. In her younger years, Amy worked as a Telephone Operator at Maritime Tel & Tel in Kentville and a Bindery Clerk at the Kentville Advertiser. In the early '70s, she earned her Nurse's Aide certification via evening classes and worked in that role from 1973-1985 at Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital in Wolfville. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting and Blue Jays baseball. This sweet woman was a gift to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by sons, Richard (Iris), Rupperswil, Switzerland; Bob (Joanne), Brooklyn, Queens County; daughter, Darlene, Wolfville; sister, Maxine MacNeill, Amherst; brother, Allan, Cambridge, Ontario; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Taylor, Stittsville, Ontario; Irene Allen, Windsor; Maxine Davison, Windsor; grandchildren, Jessica Collicutt, Arlington, Texas; James "Jay" (Lacey), Brooklyn, Hants County; Jill, the world traveler, currently in Australia; Ryan (Emily) Noseworthy, Lr. Sackville; Ben, Josh & Franny, Rupperswil, Switzerland. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Collicutt; sister, Pat Blanchard and infant sister, Marilyn; brother, Robert. A special thank you to the staff of Meadowview, Windsor Elms, Falmouth, for taking such great care of Mom and to Dr. Cathryn Smith at Hants Community Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). In keeping with Mom's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Amy may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
