David, Judy, Kathy, Brian, Johnny & Suzanne - My condolences go out to you all on the death of your mother. She was a beautiful, talented lady - I had so much respect and affection for her. Often remember fondly of her putting up with the Gibson kids hanging out at your house. Those times bring back many happy memories. Your mother was a hard-working person - from breeding and raising Boxers, to making, selling and delivering doughnuts and raising a family. She was a woman ahead of the times as not too many woman worked outside the home. We were all lucky to have had her influence in our lives.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mom. I moved to Windsor 34 years ago and she was one of my first friends in a group that we called the Golden Girls. We made many memories together over the years at birthday parties for each and everyone in the group. We didn't even need a birthday to get together at each other's homes and share stories and laugh or in the later years we went out for lunch. My first gift from Audrey was a painting of Christ Church because she knew that church was important to me. There were many after that. Usually her art work played an important part in her gifts. I have Peggy's cove that was painted by her for the hospital and I was lucky enough to win. She visited one day and sat looking at it and asked if she could take it home to improve on it. That was your mom, always looking to improve. I asked her permission to hook two of her paintings and she was delighted to give it and amazed at the finished product. She was an inspiration to me.I can imagine her telling her life story in heaven and she will be disappointed that it is so perfect and doesn't need improvement.

My deepest condolences to Audrey's family. She was a beautiful lady with a wonderful
personality. She was talented in so many ways and I always enjoyed chatting with her. Our family has a number of pieces of her artwork and I treasure a painting she did for me of our farm lane. Unfortunately, I will be out of province and will be unable to attend the visitation or service. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Cherish your memories.

Audrey was a very good friend of my husband's Aunt Mildred and Uncle Roy Fox. They all grew up on the same road where Audrey's mother was born and raised on route # 19 just north of the village of Port Hastings. We live just a stones throw south of Mill Hill which was the MacDonald property. I became aware of Audrey after we were married and unique Christmas gifts painted by Audrey were given to us by Mildred and Roy. I drove Mildred down to visit her a number of years ago.
Robert and I visited Audrey a few years ago and I took a picture of her with the 2 beautiful quilts she had made which were hanging in her bedroom. We are very pleased to have one of her paintings of the lighthouse at the entrance to Cape Breton Island hanging in our living room,
With our deepest sympathy.

Many years ago [early 50's] I walked from Sweet's Corner to Newport Station to catch the train to go to High School in Windsor. I will always remember Mrs. Goucher at the store always looking out for me as I started my walk back home after school. Sometimes the Mail-driver would be there and he would give me a drive. You Mother never forgot me and we always had a little chat whenever we met. I appreciated her friendship. My sincere sympathy to all at this sad time--she was a wonderful talented lady and will certainly be missed by many people. You all have your memories and she will forever watch over you all. It was with great sorry in my heart that I learned of Audrey's passing when I called my mother this evening. Mom (Merle Phillips) was Audrey's neighbor for years. I used to visit with her especially when she needed a hand with her computer.
Her paintings were amazing and her talent breath-taking.
When I left to move to Windsor, Ontario last July, Audrey gave me one of the mats she had painted and a couple of her cards with the pictures of her paintings.
I can imagine her painting pictures in heaven...she is missed.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Audrey was my great-aunt, and although I never got the chance to visit with her much, she was always so sweet and kind to me. And so beautiful, inside and out!
She was an amazing artist as well; my grandfather, Len (Garnet's brother), still has her paintings hanging on his walls. (He and my grandmother were very sad to hear of Audrey's passing as well.)
My thoughts are with you all. Take care.

I consider myself so very lucky to have met audrey and have the privilege of calling her friend. Since I first moved to Windsor in 2007 audrey has graced me with her wit and grace and wonderful smile. We have gardened together and gone through photo albums with wine together as well as painted together and I - many - will miss her. She never did get me to eat that kelp though.
Please do not hesitate to ask of me anything at all to help ease your time of mourning. I will be attending the service and paying my respects at that time.

My condolences to Audrey's family - I met your mom once at a visitation in Windsor NS 2007 - we chatted, and left the building together - it was a cold icy feburary day -(2007) - as we left I asked "do you want to take my arm to go down the icy steps" - she said "no, do you want to take my arm" - I said yes, and we went down those steps to our cars together. I feel blessed to have met this lady, if only once, although my mom and sister spoke of her often. Joan canham ( Hopkins)

To the Family,
My condolences to you all on the passing of your mom. She was the most beautiful person, both inside and out. As a child buying penny candy at the store, she always gave me the best hugs ever. Many a school project was completed because of her welcoming me into her home to use the World Book Encyclopedias. In later years Audrey would always make a point to ask about my sons and where they were in the world and always ending our conversations with one of her famous hugs. Again, my condolences and sympathies to you all.
