It is with heavy heart that I heard of Erving's passing just this evening. Erv and I were best buddies for quite a few years and had many memories of good and bad times. We were members of the Wolfville Volunteer Fire Department together until I married and moved to Halifax and then transferred to Ottawa in 1979. RIP Erv you will be remembered. We can't even begin to tell you how sorry we are to hear of Ervin's passing. It is such a shock. We have such wonderful memories of him. He was loved dearly by all our family.
Richard is proud to have worked with him during their time with the Hantsport Police department. he was always an outstanding officer. We are extending our deepest sympathy, which doesn't seem nearly enough. God be with you at this terrible time.

Please accept my most sincere sympathy upon the passing of your dear husband, father, grandfather... and friend to all who were lucky enough to have him in their lives. I'll always remember Ervin's sense of humour, kindness, humility, and especially that big smile. He was always the real deal - his passion for police work coming second only to the immeasurable love he had for his family. Brenda, Holly and Justin,
Like everyone who had occasion to get to know your husband, your Dad, we all share the heavy heart upon hearing the news of his passing. My heart is heavy because I hadn't seen Ervin since our days with Wolfville RCMP, but when I think of the satisfaction he had with the work he did, the contentment he had when he spoke of his home and life with you Brenda, and the pride and joy that sparkled in his eye when we often spoke of you, Holly and Justin, the heartache is a little less because of the light that beamed from him. I hadn't witnessed him as a Grampie but I can only imagine how much his light shone even brighter then.
Ervin will always be remembered in my heart as a man of immense pride and joy for his family, a man of a contented smile who never let the little things in life bother him, and a friend who was always willing to sit and listen with concern, love and compassion. Your chuckle and grin made a new girl to Nova Scotia feel comfortable, welcomed, and accepted. Gifts that mean so much. Thank you Erv, for sharing your light and I know you will continue to shine and be present in the hearts of those you love. God Bless.

I was sorry to hear of Erv having been ill and passing away. I worked with Erv when a member of the RCMP and I was stationed in New Minas. He was truly a person interested in others. I'm sure he was as proud of his son Justin as he was of Erv.

My thoughts and prayers on the passing of Erv. I met Erv when I started work with Wolfville PD in April, 97. He was the first member I worked with and he was a class act, passionate and dedicated. I don't think there was ever a shift he didn't have us all laughing and there was never a shift he didn't speak of Brenda, Holly and Justin with love. He'll be missed but well remembered.

would like to offer my condolences to the Family, Erv will be missed at Church and by The Cemetery Society; he was a great guy, I remember a night years ago, he didn't think I should have a part pint of rum in my trunk, so he took it.Erv was a Hantsport Policeman when I first met him, Joe Mcginn hired me to do some work around the old Town Hall next to the Fire Dept. and I guess that is where I met Brenda as well.
