Obituary of Gertrude Theresa Meuse

MEUSE, Gertrude Theresa RN It is with sincere sadness that the family of Gertrude Meuse announces the death of their dear mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Trudy was the last surviving member of ten "Daley" children. Born February 26, 1923 in Newcastle, New Brunswick, she was a graduate of St. Mary's convent in Newcastle, New Brunswick as well as St. Martha's School of Nursing, Antigonish, 1946. Trudy was predeceased by her husband Roland Eugene Meuse; son, Allan; as well as infant daughter, Susan Louise. She will be sadly missed by her three sons, Peter (Joyce), California; Ken (Kathleen), Calgary; and Michael (Katherine), Windsor. She was a loving grandmother to Alex, Lizzie, Shoni, Orian, Matthew, Cailey, Andrew and Danielle, and great grandmother to Faith and Hope. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Marilyn McDonell, Toronto. The family wishes to acknowledge the help of all those who made it possible for Trudy to stay in her family home for all these years. They would also like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses on Unit 200 of Hants Community Hospital whose care for Trudy was absolutely outstanding. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors Monday, June 6, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place Tuesday, June 7 at 11 a.m., in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 339 King St., Windsor, Rev. Father John MacPherson officiating. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Cemetery, Wiley Ave., Windsor. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
