She was a wonderful lady.....one in a million, for sure. My memories of her go way-back in time. I think it is safe to say, " I have always known Thelma " OR, as I always called her, when I was growing-up, " Mrs. Shaw ". Everyone thought highly of her and she was always so pleasant to all. She certainly will be missed. I guess she is
" Making Music with the Angels " now. There will be a new STAR in the heavens from now-on.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Thelma. I remember in the mid-1970's I took a group of musical students from Hants West Rural High School to perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at an evening service in Windsor Baptist Church. As an accomplished organist, she graciously allowed me to accompany the hymns that night. Please note that she was a member of the Halifax Centre RCCO (Royal Canadian College of Organists). Her talent and service at the organ have been legendary: she will be long remembered and respected.

Our sincere condolences to Thelma's family and loved ones. I have many happy memories of Thelma's wit and wisdom, and of her wonderful skill as an organist. My earliest memories of Church are of the organ calling us to worship, accompanying our singing, inspiring our spirits, all through the musicality of this extraordinary woman. As a teen I came to know Thelma through choir practice, trips with the Men's Choir and many quiet conversations by the organ bench. May each of you find comfort in knowing that many lives were touched, inspired, challenged, comforted and healed through the gift of music Thelma so generously shared.
