Obituary of Geraldine Winifred Mary Caldwell

CALDWELL, Geraldine Winifred Mary "Doll" Age 81, of Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 14, 2016, after a long struggle with cancer. Born May 18, 1934 in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Parker) Swinamer. Geraldine worked as a lead hand for Avon Valley Greenhouses in Falmouth. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Richards (Tim Legere); Faith Chaisson; Sherry Caldwell; sons, Robert (Dorothy); Gerald (Judy); 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Cecilia "Honey" Lowe; brothers, Floyd; Gerald "Bob" (her twin); Victor "Bun". Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Herman Caldwell; sisters, Norma Goodwin; Isabel Hines; Ruby Moore; Caroline Swinamer; brothers, Laurie; Leslie "King"; son-in-law, Bill Chaisson. Special thanks to Dr. James Leahy for all the special care and support during her illness. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 19. A funeral service will take place in the DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 20, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating, followed by burial in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Family flowers only by request, however, donations in memory of Geraldine may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
