BURNS, Floyd Parker - 82, Waterville, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Nictaux, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late John C. and Laura B. (Parker) Burns.Floyd began his working life on a farm and later was a truck driver for Lewie Chute, Eric Rhodenizer and M.W. Graves Ltd. He was a hard worker, loved to be outdoors and cutting fire wood. Floyd was devoted to his family and friends and enjoyed time spent fishing with his late wife, He was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and enjoying watching baseball games. Floyd was the last surviving member of his immediate family.Surviving are sons, Harold (Dianna), Meadowvale; Carmon (Sandy), Roger (Anita), all of Aylesford; Donnie (Shelley Gould), Waterville; Kenny (Angela), Cambridge; daughters, Millie (Fred) Oickle, Waterville; Beverley (Brian) Weihers, Morristown; Pamela (Brad Carey) Burns, Aylesford; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lila J. (Adams) Burns; brothers, Ellis, Norman, Roy and Nelson; sisters, Stella Salsman and Elizabeth Beals-Stoddard.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone and DeMont Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Service (902-538-8317). Visitation will take place from 7 - 9 p.m., Friday evening in the annex of the Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Funeral service will take place from the church at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14. Rev. Donald Rafuse officiating, with burial in the Waterville Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation or to the Children's Wish Foundation.
