Obituary of Barbara Janet King

KING, Barbara Janet (Stevens) Age 81, of Falmouth, formerly of Hantsport, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Monday, January 4, 2016 in her home at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Freeport, New York, USA, she was a daughter of the late John Stevens and Fanny May (Bedell) Woodworth. Barbara grew up in Long Island, New York and moved here about 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her craft business where she worked long hours sewing and crafting many beautiful items for customers and many family members, who now have treasured memories from Barbara. Barbara is survived by her husband, Morris; three sons, Ricky (Patti), Chris (Michelle) and Timothy (Danielle); four grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Jaime and Timmy Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ashlyn, all of North Carolina. She is also survived by Barbara Martin and two sisters, Geraldine "Jean" Burnett and Gail Grempel; along with many nieces and nephews from Nova Scotia and New York. Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by two sisters: Marilyn Opperman and Doris Naples. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS BON 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will take place Thursday, January 7 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 8 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Debra Mosher officiating. Burial will follow in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. Family flowers only, by request.
