Obituary of Maxine Laurena Green

Age 96, of Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, formerly of Hantsport, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Born in Kennetcook on January 24, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Ralph Erskine and Adelaide Elizabeth (Densmore) White. Maxine and Stanton operated Green's Canteen for a number of years. She also worked at various businesses in Hantsport. Maxine was predeceased by husband, Stanton G.; a stillborn son and brother, Perry. Special thanks to the staff of Dykeland Lodge. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Maxine's wishes there will be no visitation. A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 22 in Selma United Church Cemetery, Selma, Rev. Beth Johnston officiating. Donations in memory of Maxine may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, 5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4 or Dykeland Lodge, 124 Cottage St., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
