Obituary of Laurie Ervin Caldwell

Age 81, of Windsor, Hants Co., passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Three Mile Plains, he was a son of the late Russell and Margaret (Hood) Caldwell. Laurie worked as a carpenter and was in the carpenters union. He loved to camp at Graves Island Provincial Park and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In his past Laurie enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle. He has also been a long time Detroit Red Wings fan. Laurie leaves behind his wife, Dorothy (Keddy); son, Russell (Tammy Acker) and daughter, Sharon Caldwell, all of Three Mile Plains; grandchildren, Tanner Caldwell and Kasee Omond; brother, Eric, St. Stephen, NB. He was predeceased by sisters, Jean Boyd and Hilda Whitehead; brothers, Jim and Fred; sister-in-law, Edna Caldwell. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A public graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 10 in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory of Laurie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, 5657 Spring Garden Road, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.
