Obituary of Michael Robert Goodwin

GOODWIN, Michael Robert "Mike" Born in Victoria, BC, on November 16, 1965, Mike was raised by his mother, Alice along with his sister, Melinda. He moved to Nova Scotia in the '90s and lived with his sister and family, where he was a loving and lively uncle to his nephew and nieces. Mike had a great sense of humour and zest for life. During this time he met and married the love of his life, Dawn. Together they had their son, Cody, whom they both love and cherish. During a period of great sadness, Mike reached out and found comfort in the love and support of his family and friends, especially his mother, sister and very good friend, Allan MacDonald. Mike was a very hard worker and provider and was working as a CCA for the VON, when his life ended unexpectedly on August 2, 2015. Mike is survived by his wife, Dawn and son, Cody, Windsor; mother, Alice Goodwin, Victoria, BC; sister, Melinda Humphries (Allan), Greenwood; nephew, Christopher, Sackville; nieces, Natasha, Sackville and Alyssa, Victoria, BC; brother-in-law & good friend, Stan Humphries, Dartmouth; mother-in-law, Cheryl Mason; sister-in-law, Wendi Mason (Stan) and brother-in-law, Danny Mason. Mike is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike is now at peace and will be forever missed and loved by his family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, P.O. Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation or public funeral service. A private family service will be held at a later date. Family flowers only, however, donations in memory of Mike may be made to The Salvation Army, Divisional Headquarters, 330 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, NS B3R 1V4, Canadian Mental Health Association, 11 Opportunity Lane, Suite 3, Coldbrook, NS B4R 0A5 or a charity of one's choice. A trust fund for Mike's six year old son, Cody, will be arranged, through the Bank of Nova Scotia, Windsor.
