Obituary of Elsie Evelyn Wilson

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Halifax on Saturday, March 28, 2015. A daughter of Lionel and Gwen (Cate) McLean, she was born in Christchurch, New Zealand on July 9, 1925. After finishing nursing school, she worked for a number of years while traveling throughout Europe and North America. Upon returning to NZ she married and immigrated to Canada in 1957 where she raised her family and later enjoyed work as a sales assistant in nurseries in the Annapolis Valley. Georgie is survived by children: Connie Brauer (Victor Harris) Falmouth; Cameron Wilson, Ottawa; Katrina Wilson, Peace River Alberta; Raef Wilson (Valerie), Fletchers Lake; John Wilson, Toronto; Dallas Wilson (Joe MacDonald), Windsor; grandchildren, Nicole and Barbara Brauer, Davia and Shannon Brown, Caitlin, Danielle and Allison Wilson and Sabrinha Eladawy. She is predeceased by her husband, John Wilson and children, Virginia Wilson and Klaus Brauer. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of 5 Northwood Centre for their compassion and care. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 1. A funeral service celebrating Georgie's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre.
