Obituary of Mabel Eileen Hines

Age 90, formerly of Windsor, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Avondale, she was a daughter of the late Maynard and Lydia (Pettigrew) Mumford.Mabel loved yard sales, going to flea markets and her animals. She was one of the founding members of the Windsor Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.Mabel is survived by her loving daughter, Barb Hines, Windsor and sister, Eva Mumford, Windsor Elms Village. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Murray L. Hines (December 25, 2006); sister, Hilda Mumford and brother, Wiley in infancy. Special thanks to Dr. Enright and all the staff at the Windsor Elms for the comfort and care shown to Mabel.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A graveside service, open to everyone, will be held 2 pm Friday, December 12 in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mabel may be made to "Friends of Ferals", c/o Avon Animal Hospital (payable to Nine Lives Cat Rescue), PO Box 2406, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at the funeral home address or by visiting: www.demontfamilyfuneralhome.ca
