Age 84, of Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, formerly of MacKay Section, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2014 in Dykeland Lodge. Born in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lavinia (Benedict) Harvie.In her youth she taught in one room school houses in Upper Burlington, Cogmagun, MacKay Section, New Ross, Windsor Forks and Greenhill until she became a homemaker and raised her seven children. She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Karen; Anna Marie (John) Crossley and Linda (Chris) Hazel; sons, Darrell (Cindy); Lorrie (Kelly) and Jordan (Murielle); 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Anne) Harvie and Dale (Carol) Harvie. Irene was predeceased by daughter, Terry Graham; sister, Jean Crowell; brother, Harry Harvie.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 28 in the Brooklyn Civic Centre. Her cremated remains will be scatted in "Irene’s Orchard" during a private family ceremony following the Celebration of Life.
