The family sadly announce the passing of Madge on Friday, November 21, 2014. She passed away peacefully at home, in her own bed, in tender loving hands. Born on March 19, 1919 in Bramber, she was the only daughter of Melvin and Maude (Lake) Lake. She moved from Bramber to Windsor at the tender age of 16 to work at Kings School for Boys. Together they raised eight children who provided 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Each and every child was truly loved and provided much joy to both and especially brought much joy to Madge’s life in later years. Madge was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 009, Windsor and she was very active in the Juniper Grove United Church, UCW and the choir for many years until her health began failing. She spent many years as a cub leader and enjoyed this work very much.Madge is survived by her son, Marvin; daughters, Barb (Bernard) Ainslie, Wanda MacArthur and Kath Lantz (Kurt Flynn); and her grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son, James Lantz; daughters, Bernice Owens, Myrna Spencer and Mary Wile; grandson, Michael MacArthur and brothers, Ervin and Alfred Lake.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held Monday, November 24 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. only.
