Age 76, of Windsor, formerly of Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., passed away peacefully with family by her side, Friday, November 14, 2014 in Haliburton Place, Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 18, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mona (DeMont) Dykens.Shirley loved music and dancing as well as taking trips on the seniors bus and playing Bingo. In her earlier years Shirley enjoyed attending gospel services at the home of Clarence and Shirley Caldwell in Three Mile Plains.She is survived by sisters, Louise Lunn, Jean Reynolds and Nancy (Reid) Davis, all of Three Mile Plains; brother, Charlie Dykens, Three Mile Plains; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her brothers, Gordon and Bertrum; and sister, Beulah.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 16. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Monday, November 17, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor with a reception to follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
