Marjorie Agnes Lockhart passed away peacefully in her 101st year on Saturday, August 9, 2014 with loved ones by her side at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Marj was born in Three Mile Plains on December 11, 1913 to the late Walter and Laura (Keddy) Swinamer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She grew up in Three Mile Plains and married Allison Blake "Allan" Lockhart on October 2, 1943.She worked at the Hants Wholesalers in Windsor and the Department of Agriculture, and in later years worked in the United States caring for the elderly. She was a member of Christ Church Anglican, Windsor.She is survived by sister-in-laws, Kaye McIvor, Windsor and Melba Swinamer, Amherst; many nieces and nephews, whom she was fondly known as Aunt Marj. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Laura, brothers, Ray, Meb, Russ, Reg, Gerald, Owen, Curtis and Ralph; sisters, Millie, Effie and Reta and husband, Allan.Aunt Marj loved to visit her siblings and their families, enjoying a dinner out, a game of 45's and spending time with her many nieces and nephews . When going to visit Aunt Marj, she would often be found knitting, crocheting or doing needlepoint. When these projects were completed, her family were the recipients of her handiwork. Her positive attitude remained with her always and the ever keen wit and interest in current events was still much alive only a few short weeks ago.The family wishes to thank her extended family and caregivers at Dykeland Lodge for their love and support.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held Monday, August 11 from 7-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 12 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Interment will be held in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Falmouth. A reception "to celebrate a beautiful life lived" will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
