Patricia (Smith) & Irvin Lowthers posted a condolence
Sincere condolences to the family. I quite often saw your Mom with one of her caregivers at either a grocery store or post office and we always spoke. Sometimes it took her a few minutes to realize who I was but she always had the same smile that she had when I went to the bakery or when she came to our store. There are a lot of things we miss about NS and smiles like your mother's is one of them. I hope you have lots of good memories to help you get through this sad time. Sincerely, Irvin & Patricia (Smith) Lowthers
Dorothy (Barkhouse) & Lester Rafuse posted a condolence
The Barkhouse family always said "Yum" when they were eating the delicious cookies, pies and baking from Dutchie's Bakery. Another icon leaves Windsor in the passing of Mrs. DeMone. Blessings on the family at this sad time.

Your Mom will be greatly missed. Janet, you always made sure that your Mom lived in a peaceful, happy environment with dignity. You made sure that all her needs were met. Eileen was a wonderful lady and a very kind person. Thus, she died in "peace and dignity" just as she lived her life.

So sorry to hear of "Dutchie's wife" passing - As a small child I always used to go into the bakeshop with my Mum or Gram, and she always was so nice and would always give me a treat - I'd usually pick a twin roll in stead of a cookie as I wasn't that much for sweets when I was a child. She was a Lovely Lady!!! My Condolences!!!

Sorry that I am unable to attend the funeral but I will be thinking of you and your family. Sincerely, Stephanie
David Ripley posted a condolence
David. Many years have passed since we knew one another as children, probably 50 or more. Your mother , on the other hand, I would see quite often at Agnes Crosby's , for a cup of tea and a bit of pleasant conversation. She was always a dear friend to Agnes and shared joyful times with many of her friends and all who had the pleasure to meet her and share a few moments, or a lifetime. She will be remembered with great respect , as a person who brought life and happiness to all who knew her. My sister Sharon and I regret that , due to previous commitments , we cannot be with you to celebrate this fine woman's life . Regards, David Ripley
Doug & Faye Hergett posted a condolence
Dear DeMone family I was saddened to learn of Eileen's death. Unfortunately I have not been in touch with her for several years. Eileen and Dutchie were great friends with my Mum & Dad, Harold and Dorothy Hergett. I have fond memories of visiting in the Bakery and at their home in past years. But all of this wasa long ago now. Eileen was always so kind, so unfailingly pleasant and gentle whenever I was in contact with her. I feel like a bit of my past has just slipped away. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the extended family some of whom I know. Sincerely Doug Hergett

Lynn Eric Hebb posted a condolence
My deepest sympathies are with you and your family during this time of sadness. I read that you made it possible( with other assistance) to leave your Mum remain in her own home for the past 16 years. I'm sure this was greatly appreciated. I must apologize for not getting a picture of James K Hardiman's plot at Hermanville War Cemetery during my recent trip to Normandy. The day we were close to the cemetery there were 19 Heads of State at the Ouistreham International ceremony and security was so tight I could NOT get a pass to go to the cemetery. I also had my 95 year old Dad with me and I had to assist him at this ceremony and the one at Juno Beach Centre later in the day. I had good intentions but as he is not buried at Beny-sur-Mer or Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemeteries( both of which we attended commemorative events on June 5 and 7th) it was not possible to do as I intended.
