Age 83, of Windsor, passed away peacefully, with loving family by her side, on April 30, 2014, in Hants Community Hospital in Windsor. Born on August 10, 1930 in London, England, Pamela Rose Sinfield was the last of the Sinfields. Pam persevered through many of life’s challenges including being a survivor of the bombing Blitz in 1940-41. Pam immigrated to Canada in 1950. She met her loving husband Terry in Toronto, where they settled to raise their two boys. While raising a family, Pam returned to university, earned her degree and became an accomplished Certified General Accountant. She continued to work for clients well into her retirement years. Pam and Terry spent many happy winters in Florida with family and friends. In 2007 they moved from Northern Ontario to Nova Scotia in order to be closer to family and to sp end time with their beloved grandchildren. Pam enjoyed reading, classic movies, and crafts. She always had a project on the go and did the most beautiful knitting and needlework, leaving behind many cherished family heirlooms. Pam was an active member of Windsor United Church. Pam’s heart was always full of unconditional love and devotion towards family, and friends. Her always resilient and beautiful spirit will be an enduring source of strength to those who knew and loved her. Pamela is survived by her beloved and devoted husband for more than 63 years, Terence McCarthy; her loving sons, Neil (Suzanne) and Colin (Lori) and her adoring grandchildren, Erin and Liam (McCarthy) and step grandchildren, Nikki and Lauren (Clint). Pam is also survived by her sisterin- law, Kim (Campbell); niece, Lavinia and nephew, Kane (Baker). A warm thank-you to Dr. Harding of Mount Uniacke, staff of Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville and Hants Community Hospital Windsor who, with compassion and sterling professionalism, extended Pamela’s comfort and dignity. Also a warm thank you to Rev. Bill Gibson, the church community, family and friends for their prayers, love and support during this difficult time. Dearest Pamela, mom, nana, although we will miss and love you forever, after making so many sacrifices in a full and long life, we are joyous for the peace you so richly deserve. May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Memorial s ervice to take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to: nmccarthy@auracom.com.
