Age 78, of Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born February 8, 1936 in Mapleton, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late Russell and Edna  (DeWolfe) Marr.Elinor spent her whole life in the family home in Three Mile Plains. She began her working career doing administration work at Stephens & Yeaton Ltd., Windsor then later went to work at the Payzant Memorial Hospital, then Hants Community Hospital, retiring from the Admitting Office after 37 years of service. She was an adherent of Windsor United Baptist Church.Elinor is survived by her sister, Joan Purdy, Three Mile  Plains; sisters-in-law, Betty White and Leona Marr; nieces and nephews, Claire and Chuck Purdy, both of Three Mile Plains; Cathy Purdy, Sackville; Sherry Cox, Sackville; Teresa McDow, Beaverbank; Rick Marr, Three Mile Plains and their families. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold (2013), Keith (2000); and nephew, David (1991). Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, Rev. Jeffrey White and Rev. Garnet Parker for their care and kindess over the past week.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held Saturday, May 3 from 7-9 p.m. A service celebrating the life of Elinor C. Marr will be held on Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Windsor United Baptist Church, 411 King St., Windsor, Rev. Garnet Parker and Rev. Jeffrey White officiating. Burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
