Age 89, of Windsor, Hants Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on September 16, 1924 in Belmont, Hants Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Bessie Benedict.Gladys was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and also a member of the United Church in Belmont.She is survived by daughters; Debbie MacBurnie; Sandra Hayden and Kathy Poole; grandchildren; Jenna and Brandon Hayden; Chelsea Poole; brothers; Lewis and Gordon. Besides her parents, Gladys was predeceased by her husband, James MacBurnie; sisters, Marion Lowe, Winifred Benedict, Muriel Moore, Dorothy Smith and Lottie Davis.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Belmont Cemetery. Family flowers only by request.
