Peter .... I know you do not know me but I knew your grandmother and actually your dad as well for many years.... Just want you to know what a great lady your grandma was and how much I loved her.. she always made me feel welcome and useful ... when I lived next door she always use to hollar at Patsy and her brother[ think they were trying to get her apples ] but she was kind to me , think she knew I had a hard life . Then when I was adopted and lived with or visited my very special grandma ,Jess Swinamer ,Always went across street to vist your grandma and dad... I was always made to feel welcome and if I was there for awhile I always asked if I could help out at ice cream business ---after work was done payment was a soft cone ice cream . what a treat ! As years passed I always stayed in touch with your grandma and this year was a bit put out when I called her and the phone was no longer in service .. made me very sad. I shared a lot of "giggles" with your grandma and some of your uncles over tea and cookies. Your grandmother worked so hard all her life. She seldom spoke of herself but always right there for me and others as well ...I can only pray as she finished her final years that she had some peace in her life and did not suffer . Be sad, miss her but be very proud as your grandmother would want you to be . May she rest in peace and God go with you and yours.

So sorry to hear that Elsie passed away. She was an amazing lady. I always will remember her working at the Dairy Treat when we were kids. Thinking of you all at this sad time...
