It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Bob, at the age of 65, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the VG Site, QEII. Bob was born August 27, 1948 in Windsor, and was the son of the late Robert L. and H. Jean (Hunter) Hazel.  Bob worked for R.D. Nott’s General Store, Armstrong’s Taxi, and before retirement, Bob spent 30 years working for the Department of Transportation and Public Works as a heavy equipment and snow plow operator. He also enjoyed the family farm in Union Corner, where he resided. Bob took great pleasure in helping out his family, friends and neighbours, especially in the hay fields. Bob was a kind and gentle man and showed unconditional love to his family. He was a much loved Grampie who enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.Bob will be sadly missed by his partner, Elizabeth Sexton; his sister, Joan (Rolie) Boyd; children, Harold (Karen) Sexton and Cindy (Jason) Hanna; grandchildren, Megan and Kayla Sexton, Riley and William Hanna; nephews, Dwight and Adrian Boyd; and his family and friends.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 6. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Monday, October 7 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel,  Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will be held in Scotch Village Century Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to Canadian Cancer Society; Canadian Diabetes Association or the Lung Association Nova Scotia.
