WAMBACK, Clayton Walter - 95, of Hantsport, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Mount Pleasant, Lunenburg Co., he was the son of the late Walter and Alice (Corkum) Wamback.Clayton was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1981. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodcarving. Clayton was also a life member of the West Side United Church in Pentz.He is survived by his loving wife, Erma (Walsh) Simpson-Wamback; stepdaughter, Shirley (Brian) Bishop, Hantsport; daughter-in-law, Nancy Simpson, Halifax; nieces, Donna-Lee (Leslie) Matthews, Mahone Bay; Gaile (Trevor) Bethel, Ontario; nephew, Peter (Bridget) Corkum, New Cumberland, Lunenburg Co.; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Mildred Constandy, Danvers, Mass.; Emily Strum Dorey, Mahone Bay and Vivian Corkum, New Cumberland; stepson, John (Nancy) Simpson.The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of Medical B, VRH for their caring support of Clayton and family during his time in their care.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14 in Hantsport Baptist Church (corner of Main and Willow Streets), Rev. Earl MacDonald officiating, followed by a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be held in Poplar Ridge Cemetery, New Cumberland, Lunenburg Co., following the reception at approximately 3:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Clayton may be made to Hantsport Baptist Church, PO Box 152, Hantsport, NS B0P 1P0 or Westside United Church, Pentz, Lunenburg Co.
