Obituary of Joseph Dykens

DYKENS, Joseph "Joe" - 77, Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Sunday, September 8, 2013 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, on October 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Edgar and Bernice (Wilson) Dykens. He was also a step-son to the late Minnie Shearer and husband to the late Beatrice Dykens.He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Allan) Jeffery, Joeann (Paul) Mallett and Barb (Glen) Bulger; dear grandfather to, Debbie (Chris) DesRoches, Rachel (Ryan) DesRoche, Ryan and Tyler Jeffery, Joey Mallett (Michelle Walsh), Jennifer (Peter) Chaisson and Shane Bulger; Grandpa Joe (Great Papa) will be remembered by MacKenzie and Brady DesRoches, Sophie and Macie DesRoche, Zoey Mallett and Shelby and Jackson Chaisson. He is also survived by sister, Evelyn Swinamer and brother, Gerald Shearer; special friends, Peter Lantz, Carleton "Cye" Swinamer and Ken Bond. He was predeceased by brothers, Cyril and Malcolm; sisters, Rita, Doris, Barbara, Lois and Mary.The family wishes to thank Evelyn, Everett, Lorraine, Amanda and Lacey for always being there for Dad. It was much appreciated and never will be forgotten. Also, they would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Hants Community Hospital.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317).
