SWINAMER, Vernon Abner "Bun" - 78, of Upper Vaughan, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Vaughan, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Harry Clifford and Jessie Marie (Hume) Swinamer.Bun worked for 20 years as a mechanic and then a licensed carpenter until his retirement. He loved to cook and watch cooking shows, as well as baseball on television. He also loved to travel and enjoyed sailing and whale watching.Bun is survived by his daughters, Beverley (Martin) Kirchenberger and Tammy (Brad) George; son, David; step-son, Stephen Harvey; grandchildren, David, Michael, Jillian and Katelyn; great-grandson, Zachary; sisters, Margaret "Peggy" DeAdder and Muriel Reeves; brother, Weldon (Florence).He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Lotta Mae Gorman and third wife, the former Marion "Joan" Sanford; sister, Marion Hogan; brothers, Robert, Lawrence and Lester.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation, by request. Funeral service will take place Sunday, August 4 at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Ellen Hunt officiating. Private family interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Family flowers only, by request.
