I am so thankful to have made such great memories with an amazing cousin. You always made sure I felt included. Thank you for all of the good times whether it was at Gram Frank's house, random adventures you brought me along for, visits out to Brooklyn to see you guys, family get togethers, etc.
To Tash, Ryan, Aunt Yvonne and Uncle David, I am so unbelievably sorry. Sending all of my love to you guys during this difficult time.

Try as we might to find profound words to ease your grief, there are none. Just know that you are in our hearts. We have some great memories of Melissa - sleep overs, soccer trips. Her wry sense of humour took a bit of getting used to but once you did…she was funny as hell!

I worked with Melissa at the VG over the last several years. She was an amazing advocate for her patients and her teammates, always going out of her way to make things better for them in any way she could. As a Habs fan we chatted lots about their young team and how good they were going to be over the next few years. I will miss those chats for sure and will think of Melissa every time I watch them play. She will be so missed by everyone who knew her. Rest easy Melissa.

Melissa was the type of person who connected with everyone she met. She had a caring, empathetic personality and always put others’ needs before her own. She put people first.
I met Melissa through work, and although we were in different departments, I felt I could come to her for anything. From the moment we met, I knew she had my back.
I am blessed to have worked alongside Melissa more recently. Both being new managers with offices next to each other, we navigated challenges, shared a lot, and, most importantly, leaned on each other.
I’ll never forget that no matter what was going on in her world, she made it a priority to think of everyone around her and ensured everyone was taken care of.
Someone told me once that it’s not what someone does that you remember; it’s how they made you feel.
Melissa, I’ll miss your random acts of kindness, whether it be a surprise coffee, a gift for no reason other than you were thinking of me (or my kids!), or an inspiring quote to start the day.
I’ll miss our walks around the hospital (okay, let’s be honest here, we went for one walk and said we would go every day—LOL).
I’ll miss our hugs (you said you hated hugs, but I don’t think that was ever true).
I know your light is shining over all of us, and I’m grateful to have been a part of your journey.
With love, my friend,
Angie

Melissa gave me a candle one Christmas that's always in my kitchen. It smells like peaches and I remember her showing me the collection she had bought and we tested the scent of each one. She paid attention to the one I liked.
I am so sorry for your loss. She will always be with you.

Melissa was a beautiful person. She shared a kindness and generous spirit that lifted others and sparked a smile even when you were feeling lost. She never missed checking on others with a few words of advice but mostly a compassionate ear for any sort of problem, big or small. This made her a valued friend, sister, daughter, partner, coworker and a fantastic leader.
Melissa worked as a pharmacy manager with me for the past few years and we've shared a lot of laughs and tears. Despite the worries that made some days a heavy weight, Melissa always put her team first and I knew they had the best person to lead the way. We all desperately wish we had one more minute to tell Melissa how much she meant to us - I know I do - but that would take an eternity for how many hearts she touched. Instead, we will remember and care a little deeper about each other because Melissa showed us how. Bless you, dear Melissa. Rest in peace.

Melissa was my friend and co worker. I loved her smile and sense of humour. She went above and beyond to help people - a huge advocate for mental health and really listened to people. I recently lost my husband suddenly and Melissa was there to offer support. She visited me in December and I am so thankful she did. We talked and had a few laughs. She was happy and we hugged good bye. You will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Rest in Peace my friend.

Melissa had the rarest and most treasured attributes I look for in a friend. She was always honest and authentically herself, while still being one of the kindest and understanding people I know. She always had such a big heart and could see the best in everyone.
I’ve known Melissa for almost 10 years through working in the Pharmacy at the VG. I had the pleasure of being on the same team as Melissa during the covid 12-hour shifts. She was always up for a lunch time walk or get together for some laughs, then it was straight back to the work she cared so deeply for.
More recently, Melissa and I became very close friends. We enjoyed many deep conversations and fun times together. We bonded over our love of animals and struggles with mental health. I wish Melissa and I had become close sooner, so I would have had more great memories to cherish.
I was so incredibly happy when Melissa found love and started a new life chapter. My heart is so broken knowing she won’t get to continue the beautiful life she was building. My sincerest condolences to all her family and friends.
Melissa’s passing reminds me to never take those you care about for granted, and to always keep pushing through. Her memory will continue to motivate me to create more authentic and meaningful relationships.
Love and miss you forever,
Tabitha, Callie, and Arlo

Melissa was the kind of person who you could open up to and know that you were in a safe place. She would always lend an ear to her co-workers who needed to talk. She loved her Pharmacy Family and supported her staff in any way she could.
At work we have snack bin for staff to enjoy during their workday. When our office moved to the 11th floor in January 2024 it made it difficult to run to the office to get "some joy" from the snack bin. I remember on more than one occasion Melissa coming to our office and emptying her pockets with a HUGE SMILE on her face and saying "I brought you some JOY!" That was an understatement sweet Melissa!
Melissa fought for what was right, she stood up for those who needed it, and she listened without judgement when people needed an understanding and sympathetic ear.
I'm devastated that you were taken so suddenly. To Melissa's family and friends ~ I am so sorry for your unimaginable loss. I hope the stories and memories that are shared with you over the coming weeks and months bring you comfort that Melissa was loved and cared for by all who knew her.
Thank you for sharing your bright light with us, rest easy Melissa ~ We Love You.

Melissa meant so much to me. We were always helping each other through tough times, but we could always make each other laugh. Little things meant the world to her. I wish we had so much more time to hang out, go to movies, restaurants, or just hang with the dogs. She was such a strong person, even though she didn’t feel it sometimes. She put so much energy caring about others. I loved it when she did something for herself, kayaking with her dad, visiting Alicia, going to see Ryan and family. I was blessed to have her in my life, and I will miss her deeply.

From right when you were a wee one taking you & Tash to feed the ducks at the pond behind Gram’s to going to the beach and covering you in the ground with sand to touring museums with the kids, right up until just last year. We’ve toured, celebrated and laughed for 40 years. Mostly I will miss razzing you about the Habs because that was our thing. I will never apologize for being a leaf fan. I fondly remember you making me 10 years older than I was and calling me mom when we would go into a store.

Melissa was an amazing co-worker, who I was fortunate to also call my friend. She had such a sweet and kind soul and to know her is a blessing in itself. She will be so missed by all of us in the various pharmacy departments. She made it so easy to talk to her, she made the difficult conversations a little easier. You always felt supported by her. Every time she would call the DGH pharmacy and I would answer and she would say “Hi Melissa, it’s Melissa” and then we would giggle like little kids. She was a huge advocate and supporter of mental health and we all enjoyed the uplifting quotes she would share on social media. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Melissa’s departure is a profound loss for our pharmacy family and we send all of our love and biggest hugs to her family and friends during this heartbreaking time. Thoughts and prayers to you all.

Sending our most sincere condolences to you all. We are heartbroken for you all and for Melissa’s many, many friends who are grieving your loss as well. I first met Melissa when I was working in her primary class at Brooklyn Elementary and she with her deep voice would team that class around like a mother hen, lol. Her leadership shone through then and they all listened to her. I know what an asset she was on the many teams she was part of at Hants West too.
Keeping you all in our thoughts as you navigate going forward. Hugs
