Obituary of Wayne Philip Jarvis

Age 76, of Currys Corner, Hants County, passed away peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Weymouth Falls, Digby County, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Janie (Scott) Jarvis.

Wayne worked for over 34.5 years for the Department of Nation Defense. He was a chief official in amateur boxing for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita “Bonnie” Pleasant-Jarvis; sons, Jack, James (Arlene), Derrick Spencer and Kenneth Jarvis; daughter, Sharon (Robert) Steele; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Esther; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Marion (Herman) Martin, Alice (David) Farmer and Thelma Jarvis; brothers, Wilfred (Edna Pleasant), Hilton, Clarence (Maxine Smith), Gilbert, James, Aubrey “Joe” Jr. and William.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 9 in St. Matthew’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Weymouth Falls, Weymouth. Please bring a chair and umbrella if required.
