Obituary of Roland William O'Blenis

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Roland “Rollie” O’Blenis, of Windsor, on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the age of 84. Born August 16, 1940 in Amherst to the late Pearl (Doncaster) and Earl O’Blenis, he enjoyed fishing, pool, darts and the beach. He was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Rollie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene (Langille); daughter, Michelle (Daniel) Freckelton; son, Scott (Kim) O’Blenis; six grandchildren, Nakayla, Liam, Emma, Brayden, Gabriel and Dylan; siblings, Harold, Ray, Carole, Steve, Irene and Mike.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Earl and sister-in-law, Carol. 

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service and celebration of life will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch No. 009, 35 Empire Lane, Windsor. Donations in memory of Rollie may be made to your local Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion or a charity of one’s choice.
