Age 71, of Windsor, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born on November 9, 1952 in Lake Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Medford and Ermie (Wile) Coolen.

Although not originally from Windsor, Kathy made her home here for the last 40 years. She loved the town, the people and made a lot of lifelong friends. From working at the Met/SAAN Store to her time with CIBC, Kathy always looked forward to seeing the community.

She was a member of Jaycees/Jaycettes for many years, as well as, Treasurer of Christ Church Anglican in Windsor.

Kathy loved spending time with her family. Spending time in Springfield, visiting her aunts and uncles and more recently getting to spend time with her nieces and nephews from British Columbia.

She is survived by her husband, James “Scotty”; son, Christopher (Kaila); daughter, Nicole; brother, Gerald (Maggie) Coolen and sisters, Judy VanDervender and Norah Keenan; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Carol Churches; brothers-in-law, Cliffe Churches and Joseph VanDervender.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Springfield, Annapolis Co. with interment in the Springfield Baptist Cemetery at that time.
