Obituary of Mildred Irene Dykstra
Age 77, of Windsor. It is with great sadness that we, the family of Millie, announce her passing on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Millie was cherished by all who knew her. Proudly born and raised in New Victoria, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Cameron) McVarish
Millie retired from a fulfilling career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Dykeland Lodge, where she took great pride in caring for the residents and building lifelong friendships. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends and never missed an opportunity for an adventure, especially if it led her to the ocean.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Charlene; and her grandchildren, Laura (Chris) and Cameron; her devoted son, Darrell; and his children, Nakayla, Liam, and Braden. She is also survived by her brothers, Kevin (Cathy), Stephen (Clara), and Eddie (Terry).
She was predeceased in death by her brother, Gregory; who is survived by his wife, Winnie.
Millie will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
